Description
Situated at the SE end of a broad NW-SE ridge. It is incorporated into the bank of a large enclosure (ME002-037002-) at W. It consists of an unroofed gallery (max. dims 3.4m NE-SW; 1.2m NW-SE) that opened to the SW where the gallery is widest and closed by a single stone (L 1.8m; H 0.45m). - ME002-037002 Enclosure - large enclosure
Description
Situated at the SE end of a broad NW-SE ridge. This is a large subcircular or sub-triangular grass-covered area (dims c. 70m E-W; c. 60m N-S) that slopes down to the SE (H c. 4m). It is defined by an earthen bank (Wth c. 5m; H c. 1m) on rock outcrop W-N, and a scarp (at E: Wth 4m; H 1m) and outer berm (at E: Wth 5m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance, but a wedge tomb (ME002-037001-) is incorporated in the bank at W and a rectangular enclosure (ME002-037003-) is built against the inner edge of the perimeter at E. - ME002-037003 Enclosure
Description
Situated at the SE end of a broad NW-SE ridge and abutting the inner edge of the perimeter of the large enclosure (ME002-037002-) at E. This is a grass-covered rectangular area (int. dims 25-26.5m E-W; 16.5m N-S at E to 20.5m N-S at W) defined by a wall footing (Wth 1.2m; H 0.3-0.5m) on every side except the E. There is an entrance (Wth 3.5m) towards the N end of the W side. At the centre there is a possible hut-site (ME002-037004-) visible as a low collection of grass-covered stones, but it is a poorly defined feature. Description
Located on the tip of a short N-S spur. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 24.5m N-S) that slopes down to the S (H 1m). It is defined by a scarp with some bushes that increases from N (Wth 2.5m; H 0.6m) around to S (Wth 2.5m; H 1.4m). There is no visible fosse but there is a ramp entrance (Wth of base 2.1m) at ESE.
