Description
In pasture, on break in N-facing slope. Oval area (33m N-S; 35.5m E-W) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank with external fosse (D 0.1m; Wth 2.5m). Field boundary (ext. H 0.95m) runs along outer edge of fosse except to NW where fosse skirted by farm passage. Enclosing bank (int. H 0.45m; ext. H 1.05m) is heavily masked by vegetation overgrowth. Description
In pasture, atop low hill. Monument, depicted as roughly circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 40m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, is now largely covered by dense overgrowth. Enclosing element partially accessible E->S showing it to consist of earthen bank (int. H 0.45m; ext. H 1.85m), with external fosse (Wth 1.2m; D 0.3m) SE->S. Bank has remains of stone revetment on both faces at ESE. At NNE short arc of earth-and-stone bank (H 0.65m), c. 2m outside bank, probably remains of counterscarp/outer bank.
