Description
In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope. Oval area (40m N-S; 31m E-W) defined by scarped edge (H 2.1m; Wth 3.45m). Scarp, best preserved and stone-faced at W, has been extensively quarried out NE->ESE. Stone shed built into scarp face ESE->S. Interior surface very uneven, with quarried-out centre containing two partially buried cars; an ESB pole stands in SE quadrant. Modern farm passage skirts around W arc. Farm buildings, depicted on 1923 OS 6-inch map immediately to S of enclosure, have recently been demolished. Description
In pasture, on N-facing slope below brow of hillock. Roughly circular area (32.5m N-S; 31m E-W) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.15m). Bank roughly faced with loose stones SW->N. Two-phase linear wall (H 1.9m), with stepped external profile, runs along line of enclosing bank NE->E for c. 5.2m. Gap (Wth 2.2m) in bank at ESE. Interior, under rough pasture, slopes down gently to N; there is a large boulder (H 1.2m; 1.9m E-W; 1m N-S) at N verge. Deciduous trees grow along bank. Description
In pasture, on low-lying marshy terrain. Depicted on 1841 and later OS 6-inch maps as distinct curve in field boundary. Semi-circular area (diam. c. 135m N-S) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.2m) N->S with external fosse (Wth 1m; D 0.6m) N->SE. Field boundary cuts across interior on rough E-W axis to abut inner bank face at SE.
