Description
Located at the coastal edge of a large arable field, cropmarks indicate the presence of subsurface remains of a double ditched enclosure (pers. comm. Ian Lennon). The enclosure visible on Google maps imagery (June 2018), comprises a circular inner enclosure (diam. c. 20m) and an irregular oval outer enclosure (diam. c. 45m) defined by a ditch (wth. c. 1.8m) . The enclosures extend beyond the field boundary to the shoreline. Other cropmarks (DU005-204----) in the field may indicate an avenue towards the enclosure. Description
Located with a large arable field adjacent to the coast, cropmarks indicate the presence of subsurface remains of a parallel linear ditches. The parallel ditches visible on Google maps imagery (June 2018), are visible for c.50m and are aligned NNE/SSW. Situated approximately 16m apart the linear ditches average 2m in width. The linear ditches appear to lead towards double ditched enclosure (DU005-203----). Other cropmarks in the field may indicate extensive activity in this area. Description
Located with a large arable field adjacent to the coast, cropmarks indicate the presence of subsurface remains of a parallel triple ditched enclosure, encompassing the townland boundary between Lane and Holmpatrick. The enclosure visible on Google maps imagery (June 2018) comprises a circular inner enclosure (diam. c. 21m) defined by a sub-surface ditch (wth. c. 1.5m ); a middle enclosure (diam. c. 28m) which appears to encompass the townland boundary to the north; and the southern arc of an outer enclosure ditch (diam. c. 40m).
