Description
Located on the S-facing slope of a slight W-E spur. The cropmark of an oval enclosure (int. dims c. 37m WNW-ESE; c. 26m NNE-SSW) defined by the lighter band (Wth c. 4m) of a bank NW-E is visible on Apple Maps which utilises a survey conducted by Bluesky International during June 2018. There are traces of what might be a nearly complete inner fosse or drain. It is also faintly visible on Google Maps (06/06/2018), and was first reported by Anthony Murphy. Situated at the top of a small N-S spur overlooking the W-E valley of the meandering River Nanny with the stream c. 200m to the S. The cropmark of a circular enclosure (int. diam. c. 23m; ext. diam. c. 38m N-S; c. 34m E-W) defined by two fosses was recorded on a digital image captured with a drone-mounted camera by Colin Byrne on 22/07/2021. Detached four-bay single-storey courthouse, built c.1880, with timber entrance canopy. Now in use as a house. Pitched slate roof with eaves dentils. Rendered walls with continuous string course. Moulded surrounds and stone sills to window openings. Central window inserted into pointed arched rendered panel. Timber panelled door. Flat-roof extension to rear.

Description
Detached seven-bay two-storey constabulary barrack, dated 1903. Now in use as a private house. Stepped gabled breakfronts to two-storey terminating bay to north and to central single-storey entrance bay. Pitched artificial slate roof with red brick chimneystacks, eaves dentils and stepped gables. Roughcast rendered walls with red brick quoins and date plaque. Timber sash windows with stone sills. Rendered pointed arches over windows to gabled breakfronts.
