In scrubland. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 264, no. 12a) as a ‘rectangular Stone fort’ (c. 22m by c. 21m) defined by a drystone wall. There was an entrance gap (Wth c. 1.6m) at E flanked by ‘uprights’ and 'a structure measuring 28' x 19' [8.5m by 5.8m] overall' within the interior. Apart from traces of a raised platform, no visible surface trace survives. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 9 January 2017
- GA113-030001 Ringfort - cashel
Description
Within a field system (GA113-030002-), on a gentle W-facing slope in scrubland. Poorly preserved almost circular cashel (diam. 22.5m) defined by a drystone wall. A number of internal divisions are evident within the interior. (McCaffrey 1952, 265, no. 13) Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 9 January 2017
- GA113-030002 Field system
Description
Surrounding a cashel (GA113-030001-) and enclosure (GA113-030003-) from S through W to NE, this field system consists of a series of drystone walls, much obscured by overgrowth; it covers an area of c. 100m by c. 100m. A roughly circular enclosure (18m N-S; 16m E-W) defined by a single line of drystone walling is evident at W. A double-faced drystone wall extends from it at SW and runs SW from c. 18m before turning SE for c. 60m. Elsewhere only intermittent traces of walls are visible. (McCaffrey 1952, 265, no. 13) Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 9 January 2017
- GA113-030003 Enclosure
Description
Abutting a cashel (GA113-030001-) at N. This small circular enclosure (diam. 12m) is defined by a double-faced drystone wall. Within the interior at NW is a small oval enclosure (4m N-S; 3m E-W) also defined by a drystone wall; it may be the remains of a house site. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 9 January 2017
- GA113-031 Ringfort - cashel
Description

(McCaffrey 1952, 265, no. 13a) Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 9 January 2017
- GA113-032001 Ringfort - cashel
Description
On a gentle W-facing slope in scrub and rock outcrop. Very poorly preserved circular cashel (diam. 35m) defined by a collapsed drystone wall, now reduced to a rubble spread. McCaffrey (1952, 264, no. 12) noted an entrance (Wth c. 2.1m) facing E ‘flanked by two large uprights’ and also a ‘souterrain’ (GA113-032002-) in the interior. No visible surface trace of these features survives; the interior is heavily overgrown. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 9 January 2017
- GA113-032002 Souterrain
Description
Within the interior of a cashel (GA113-032001-). McCaffrey (1952 264, no. 12) noted the presence of a souterrain. No visible surface trace survives. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 9 January 2017
- GA113-033 Ringfort - cashel
Description
In rock outcrop. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 265, no. 12b) as a circular ‘Stone fort’ (diam. c. 23.4m) defined by a drystone wall. There was a ‘a modern structure 21'x 18' [c. 9.7m by c. 5.5m] overall’ outside the monument at SW. No visible surface trace survives. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 9 January 2017
- GA113-034 Ringfort - cashel
Description
In rock outcrop. Circular cashel (diam. 28.3m), in fair condition, defined by a drystone wall. A possible entrance gap at E is now obscured by rubble. McCaffrey (1952, 266, no. 13c) noted three rectangular structures, defined by drystone walls, and a ‘paving of boulders’ within the interior. Only faint traces of internal structures survive at SE and SW. There is a souterrain (GA113-034001-) in the NW quadrant. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 9 January 2017
- GA113-034001 Souterrain
Description
In the NW quadrant of a cashel (GA113-034----). This drystone-built passage (L 8.4m), running E-W, is unroofed and partially filled with rubble for most of its length (6m). From the present access point, near the W end, a roofed section extends c. 2m to the W and runs under the cashel wall. At the E end a short section of drystone revetment extending off to the S suggests there may have been a second passage.
