• GA125-013 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a hillslope to W of Ballycorban House. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (43m N-S; 40m NE-SW) defined by a scarp from NE through S to SW. A field boundary cuts the monument at SW and NE; no visible surface trace of the enclosing element survives to NW of it. A souterrain (GA125-013001-) is associated. • GA125-013001 Souterrain
  Description

  Within W sector of the interior a rath (GA125-013----). Indicated on 1st and 3rd (1920) eds. of OS maps by two small dots aligned NW-SE and named ‘Caves’. The dots may indicate two points of access. The landowner recalled a ‘small tunnel’, which was subsequently blocked up. No visible surface trace of it survives. • GA125-014 Enclosure
  Description

  On the N-facing slope of a hillock in hilly pastureland. Marked on the 1920 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a small roughly subcircular enclosure (c. 16m E-W; c. 13m N-W). The OS 1:2500 plan (surveyed 1912-16) shows it planted with fir trees. According to local information, it was defined by a bank which was levelled c. 1980.
