On S-facing slope of a rise in otherwise level grassland. Poorly preserved circular ringfort (D 48.3m) defined by a bank of earth and stone from NW through N to NE, and by a scarp from ESE to SE. No visible surface trace survives elsewhere. A road cuts the monument at E and W. A ringfort (GA017-156----) lies c. 300m to WSW. On an E-facing slope in grassland. Well-preserved subcircular rath (N-S 27m, E-W 25.5m) defined by two tree-lined banks and an intervening fosse. A number of field boundaries radiate from the monument. A gap (Wth 2m) at SE may be original. Description
On the summit of a hillock in undulating grassland. Well-preserved subcircular rath (E-W 41m, N-S 36m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The fosse and outer bank survive from SE through S to W; no visible surface trace survives elsewhere. There is an entrance causeway at E. According to local information, there is a 'tunnel' (possible souterrain) in the interior at N which could be entered by lifting a 'large slab'. No visible surface trace survives. Description
On a gentle rise in undulating pasture, overlooking bogland to S. A D-shaped rath (N-S 66m, E-W 52m), in fair condition, defined by an earthen bank and external fosse. The bank is present from E to SE; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. A field bank cuts the monument at NW and NE and no visible surface trace survives to N of it. A small subcircular cairn (L 4m, Wth 8m) occupies the interior. Description
During construction work in 1975, a number of human bones were discovered 30m NW of ringfort (GA018-063----). They were found at a depth of 0.4m and reputedly rested on or in a shallow pit in the underlying boulder clay (Topgr. Files, UCG). Possibly the remains of a crouched burial in an unlined pit.
