Existing footpaths shall be repaired where required and a new Toucan road crossing shall be constructed to connect to the Blueway constructed in Phase 1. The proposal will involve works to or within the curtilage of the following protected structures; Portumna Harbour, Fairyhill (RPS 477) and Portumna Castle, Portumna Demesne (PRS 3785). Description
Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1910, having two-bay side elevations, with canted bays to ends of front (east) elevation and to south elevation, and with single-bay two-storey extension to west and single-storey extension to north. Hipped oversailing slate roof with paired timber corbels to eaves, cement rendered chimneystacks, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Cement rendered walls with rendered quoins. Square-headed window openings with continuous concrete sill courses to bay windows, and replacement uPVC windows. Round-headed door opening with cement render surround comprising panelled pilasters with plinths and imposts and moulded archivolt with keystone, and having replacement timber door with sidelights and paned fanlight, approached by steps. Single-bay single-storey outbuilding ro south-west, with pitched tiled roof and timber sides. Entrance to road comprising mild steel double-leaf gate to east, with rendered piers, rendered plinth wall and matching railings.

Freestanding five-bay single-storey school, built c.1860, having slightly advanced gabled end bays and gabled porch to centre. Pitched slate roofs. Roughcast rendered walls with render plinth course. Square-headed window openings with six-over-nine pane timber sliding sash windows with cut-stone sills. Doorway to north side of porch. Limestone plaque to upper gable of porch.

Description
Detached five-bay two-storey former bank, built c.1905, facing east, two south end bays of front elevation projecting forward, south elevation having three bays, and north elevation having two-bay gable end and slightly recessed two-bay return. Three-bay single-storey flat-roof return to south-west. Now in use as house. Hipped oversailing slate roof with paired timber corbels to eaves, brick chimneystacks, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Channelled rendered walls to ground floor, and pebbledashed walls to upper floor with channelled rendered quoins. Ground floor has square-headed openings with render surrounds and six-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows, and square-headed display window openings to projecting bays with render pilasters and timber-framed plate-glass windows with pivoting toplights. Square-headed window openings with render reveals, continuous moulded sill course and six-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows to first floor. Square-headed door opening to front elevation, having render pediment, with single pilaster with fluted console to north side, timber panelled door, and multi-pane overlight. Two-storey outbuildings to rear with pitched slate roof, painted rendered walls and square-headed openings. Wrought-iron railing to boundary at south and ornate cast-iron railings to front on moulded limestone plinths, with ornate pedestrian and double-leaf vehicular gates.

Description
Freestanding gable-fronted cruciform-plan Roman Catholic church, dated 1958, with six-bay nave, single-bay transepts and single-bay lower chancel, nuns' chapel to north-west, sacristy to north-east, gabled projecting porch to gable-front, flat-roofed projecting porches to re-entrant corners of transepts and nave, double-height gabled projecting porches to either side of south end of nave, and flat-roofed confessional box projections to nave. Pitched slate roof with cast-iron rainwater goods supported on stone corbels, cut limestone copings, and metal cross finials to gables. Snecked limestone walls with ashlar plinth course and continuous sill course and buttresses to front elevation and transepts. Lancet windows having cut-stone surrounds and sloping sills and stained-glass windows to nave. Pointed arch openings with triple-light stained-glass windows to gable-front and transepts. Oculus with stone mullions to chancel. Pointed arch door opening to gable-front with timber battened door, hood-moulding and with name and date plaque to west. Pointed arch openings with timber battened doors in angle porches. Square-headed openings with timber battened doors and tripartite overlight to porches at south end of nave. Coffered ceiling to interior, timber gallery, glazed timber double doors. Marble columns to transepts having decoratively carved capitals and supporting pointed arches. High relief Stations of the Cross. Carved marble two-tier reredos with marbel panels and colonettes. Chapels insde front of church have decorative wrought-iron gates and railings. Two-bay single-storey outbuilding to north-east of church with pitched artificial slate roof and cast-iron rainwater goods, snecked limestone walls, square-headed openings with chamfered surrounds, cut-stone sills and timber windows, double-leaf door and overlight. Marble statue on moulded limestone base surrounded by ornamental garden to east of church. Freestanding tower to south-west of church. Set within former fair green with snecked limestone boundary wall to east, south and west and rubble limestone wall with cut-stone coping to north. Square-profile ashlar limestone piers with mild steel and cast-iron gates.

Pyramidal slate roof with cross finial, snecked limestone square-profile corner pinnacles, and corbel courses to parapets. Snecked limestone walls with ashlar stepped corner buttresses, moulded string courses to lower stages, and stepped plinth. Lancet openings to lower stages with chamfered surrounds, and leaded and stained-glass windows, and louvered lancets to top stage. Square-headed windows to second stage. Pointed arch entrance opening to south side, with timber battened double door, and square-headed opening with timber door to east elevation.

Description
Detached five-bay two-storey former convent, built c.1850, with two-storey canted bay to centre, and canted bay windows to end bays, that to east having French doors. Three-bay single-storey return to rear, with half-dormer attic. Currently not in use. Pitched slate roofs with cement rendered chimneystacks, cast-iron rainwater goods, timber bargeboard to west gable, gablets over first floor windows to return, and hipped slate roofs to canted bays. Dentillated render eaves course to front elevation. Painted rendered walls, with continuous sill course to first floor, and with plinth to front elevation. Statue on cement rendered plinth with canopy over to west gable. Square-headed window openings, with moulded render surrounds to front and west elevations, stone sills and timber two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Segmental-headed main doorway, with raised render surround, timber panelled double-leaf door, overlights and sidelights. Square-headed French doors, with glazed timber double-leaf door, with one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows to canted sides, openings flanked by timber pilasters with moulded details. Set adjacent to road. Garden to front and west, having decorative cast-iron double-leaf gates with dressed stone piers and plinth walls, with matching railings.

Description
Freestanding T-plan Gothic Revival Roman Catholic church, built c.1825, with three-bay nave and wide single-bay transepts with gabled porches to east sides. Three-bay wide, one-bay deep and two-storey porch to front, built 1858, topped by square-plan tower drum. Later converted to parish hall and currently disused. Pitched slate roofs with crenellated corbelled parapets, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Roof to tower drum not visible. Detached U-plan two-storey convent, dated 1891-3, having two principal facades, main to west and second to north. West façade has five-bay centre comprising shallow gabled entrance breakfront flanked by two bays each side, with further gabled two-bay projection to north end and similarly projecting west gable of chapel to south end, chapel having four-bay side wall and lean-to sacristy to east end. Recent two-storey return to north over raised basement. North façade is seven-bay and two-storey over half-basement, with stepped profile central entrance breakfront having openings at half levels and belfry over, and further entrance at north end. Currently not in use. Pitched slate roofs with cut limestone corbelled eaves course, terracotta ridge tiles, red brick chimneystacks with yellow brick dressings, cast-iron rainwater goods, stone cross finials to main gables and wrought-iron cross finials to breakfronts. Rooflights to rear pitch of west block. Snecked rock-faced rusticated limestone walls with plinth course, canopied statue niche to north projection of main façade with hood-moulding, continuous sill course to both facades at first floor level, yellow brick quoins, rendered walls to rear elevation and return to north end. Tudor arch window openings to main facades with yellow brick block-and-start surrounds, dressed limestone sills and one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Similar windows with plain surrounds to rear elevation. Portumna Workhouse complex, built c.1850, comprising pair of two-storey entrance blocks facing south-east, T-plan block to north-west comprising nine-bay single-storey north-west to south-east connecting block with eleven-bay block at right angle to south-west and twelve-bay block at right angle to north-east, further nine-bay two-storey block to north-west again, six-bay single-storey block to west of T-plan group, and four-bay single-storey outbuilding at north-east end of north-west block. Converted for use as hospital c.1920, currently disused, under conservation and being refenestrated. Hipped slate roofs to larger blocks and pitched roofs to smaller blocks, four-bay block curently roofless. Timber eaves brackets to tallest blocks, and clay ridge tiles, cement rendered chimneystacks, and cast-iron rainwater goods throughout complex. Louvred lanterns to connecting and west blocks, and dressed limestone bellcote to former. Roughcast rendered walls with some exposed dressed limestone with slit apertures throughout.
