Description
On a rise in undulating grassland. Well-preserved subcircular rath (N-S 43m, E-W 40.5m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The outer bank is faced with stone, and is overlain by a field bank from NW through N to ENE. There is a well-defined entrance at SE. Within the interior are three grass-covered mounds, probably the result of field clearance (Neary 1914, 112, no. 125) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Description
On a rise in grassland. Known locally as 'Lissawavra' (Neary 1914, 122, no. 126), this very poorly preserved originally circular rath (D c. 33m) is defined by a scarp and external fosse. The scarp survives from ESE through S to W, and the fosse from S to W. No visible surface trace survives elsewhere.
