Description
In an area of State forestry. Indicated on the 1838 and 1933 editions of the OS 6-inch map as an irregular enclosed tree copse (c. 60m NW-SE; c. 45m NE-SW) in an area that was liable to flooding. Description
On a gentle S-facing slope in pastureland, overlooking a turlough to the SE. This low roughly circular grassed-over mound of burnt stone (diam. 4m; H 0.4m) is cut across from NW to SE by a livestock trackway. A field wall overlies it at N. Description
In low-lying pastureland which is subject to flooding from a turlough c. 50m to the S. This fulacht fia was described by Cody (1989, 162, no. 21) as a well-preserved grass-covered crescentic mound (7m N-S; 6m E-W; H 0.5m), opening towards the W. Natural rock outcrop at S was probably incorporated into it as it expanded with use. A burnt mound (GA096-137----) lies c. 55m to the NW.
