  Description

  On flat scrubland, c. 50m SSW of a plantation bawn (GA057-067001-). A circular enclosure (D c. 35m) noted during aerial reconnaissance in 1968 (CUCAP AVN 2) and again in 1983 (ASGAP 28:30-2, 36, 42). The photographs indicate that it is defined by a collapsed wall. In the interior, a number of subdivisions and the foundations of a possible house are visible. Not visited.   Description

  Immediately SW of a ringfort (GA057-110001-). An oval enclosure was noted during aerial reconnaissance in 1968 (CUCAP AVM 100) and again in 1987 (ASGAP 383:19). It appeared to be of similar character to the ringfort, though somewhat smaller. The field in which it lay has since been reclaimed and no visible surface trace survives.   In level grassland. Poorly preserved circular cashel (D 39.5m) defined by a drystone wall best preserved at NW. An enclosure (GA057-110----) and a field system (GA057-110002-) are associated.   Description

  Surrounding a ringfort (GA057-110001-) and an adjoining enclosure (GA057-110----). Aerial reconnaissance in 1968 (CUCAP AVM 100) and 1987 (ASGAP 383:19) brought to light a series of banks, forming several irregular fields, covering an area c. 280m N-S by c. 200m E-W. The field in which the system lay has since been cleared and subdivided. No visible surface trace survives.   Description

  At a road junction on W side of the Galway-Tuam road, c. 210m NE of a church (GA057-085001-). Indicated on OS Fair Plan as a small rectangular roadside recess and named 'Monument' and 'Cahill na can Dherg' in Gothic script. On 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map, it is shown as a circular dot and labelled simply as 'Monument' in Roman script. By the time of 3rd ed. (1933), it has been renamed 'Leacht Chill Chathail' but no location is indicated. According to local information, it was 'an eight-sided flagstone' c. 3m in diameter.
