Description
In low-lying grassland. Well- preserved roughly circular rath (D 22.5m) defined by three banks and two intervening fosses. The enclosing elements are best preserved from N through E and S to W. Description
In gently undulating pastureland. Subcircular rath (N-S 29m, E-W 26m), in fair condition, defined by a bank of earth and stone. A gap (Wth 2m) at E may be original. Two-hollows visible outside the monument to N and ESE appear to be the result of quarrying. Other ringforts lie 85m to WNW (GA099-145----) and 90m to SSW (GA099-144----). Some 90m SSW of a ringfort (GA099-143----). Subcircular rath (N-S 41m, E-W 31m), in fair condition, defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The fosse and outer bank survive from NW through N to NE. A gap (Wth 3m) at E may be original. Some 85m WNW of a ringfort (GA099-143----), it lies immediately N of a number of ruined buildings marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1947) as 'Mc Dermott's Lodge (in Ruins)'. A D-shaped rath (N-S 31m, E-W 29.5m), in fair condition, defined by a bank from NNE to E and from SSW through W to N. A small outhouse abuts the enclosing element at SW. Description
On the summit and S slopes of a NW-SE running ridge in undulating grassland. Aerial reconnaissance in August 1984 (ASGAP 172:18) brought to light a series of low grassed-over banks of earth and stone covering an area c. 230m E-W by c. 200m N-S. Two small roughly square enclosures are visible, however, most of the banks form no obvious pattern.
