Description
In grassland overlooking extensive bogland to the W and N. Subcircular rath (37m E-W; 34m N-S), in fair condition, defined by a bank and external fosse. The bank is visible except from S to SW where a scarp forms enclosing element. The fosse survives from NNE through S to W; elsewhere a vegetation band indicates its line. Description
On a W-facing slope in grassland with bogland to the S. This well-preserved subcircular rath (54m N-S; 48m E-W) is defined by a bank and external fosse. The bank is overgrown with trees and is best preserved from S to SSW and from NW to NE (Wth 2.5m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1.8m). The fosse (Wth 3.5m) is obscured with overgrowth but is most clearly visible from SE to SW. There is a wide causewayed gap (Wth 12m) at NE. A N-S field boundary runs to the E of the site. Description
On a rise in grassland overlooking bogland to the N. Marked on the OS 6-inch maps as a subrectangular enclosure (c. 60m NW-SE; c. 45m NE-SW). On inspection in April 1984 no visible surface trace survived. However, slight traces of its outline are visible on OSi aerial imagery (Google maps).
