The feature is indicated on the latest edition of the OS 6-inch map and an inspection in 1985 recorded that it had then been recently cleared (SMR field). It is not visible at ground level. Description
In undulating grassland. Poorly preserved roughly oval graveyard (N-S c. 70m, E-W c. 40m) enclosed from S through W to N by an earthen bank, and elsewhere by a mortared stone wall. The interior is overgrown and all the visible burials are post-1800 in date. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Description
On a ridge in undulating grassland, probably once part of the estate of Fairfield House. This monument was evidently gone by the time of 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map whereon it is labelled as 'Site of'. All that survives are quadrangular grass-covered foundations (N-S 4m, E-W 2.5m) along with two small mounds of stone at S. Possibly the remains of a folly associated with the nearby house which lies 860m to SE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
