  A hachured area marked on the 1932 edition of the OS 6-inch map, and named 'Gravel Pit' on the OS 1:2500 plan (surveyed 1912-16), proved on inspection in 1985 to be a hollow overgrown with trees, at the centre of which was a dried-up pond.   Description

  On a steep rise in otherwise level grassland overlooking bogland to N. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 39.5m, E-W 35.5m) defined by a denuded bank. Numerous breaches appear modern.
