Description
On a rise in rolling grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 22m, E-W 16m) defined by a bank and external fosse. The bank is present intermittently from E through S to SW; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. The fosse survives from NW through N to NNE. Quarrying has encroached upon the monument at NW. In N sector of the interior is a well-preserved circular house (D 5.4m) defined by a grassed-over bank of stone with opposing entrance gaps at E and W. Description
On a rise in hilly grassland. Well- preserved subcircular ringfort (E-W 36.5m, N-S 34m) defined by two stone-lined earthen banks and an intervening fosse. Well-defined entrance at SE. Within the interior is an oval-shaped hollow (L 7m), long axis running NW-SE, the remains of a possible souterrain. Immediately to SE are the grassed-over foundation lines of a square stone structure (L/Wth 4m), possibly a house. A field wall cuts the monument at NE and SSE. Two ringforts (GA030-080----, GA030-081----) lie c. 100m and c. 200m to W respectively. Some 100m W of a ringfort (GA030-079----). Poorly preserved circular cashel (D 27m) defined by a drystone wall, overlain by a field wall from SE through S to SW. Gaps at ESE appear modern. Description
Circa 100m W of a ringfort (GA030-081----). Poorly preserved subcircular ringfort (E-W 41m, N-S 39m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is present from SE through W to N and is overlain by a field wall from SE to SW. A scarp forms the enclosing element from N to SE. Traces of outer stone-facing survive at S. The fosse and outer bank are visible intermittently throughout. Within the interior is a subrectangular mound of earth and stone (N-S; L 7m, Wth 6m) with a central depression (D 2m), probably a house. Description
On S-facing slope in reclaimed pastureland. According to local information, this is the site of a 'lios' which was levelled some years ago. What is visible is a slightly raised subcircular area (E-W 31.3m, N-S 29m) in the centre of which is a small low circular mound (D 11m, H 0.5m). The surviving morphology is reminiscent of a barrow.
