- GA103-119 Ringfort - rath
Description
In gently undulating farmland. Marked on the 1933 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a subcircular enclosure (c. 55m N-S; c. 40m E-W) cut by a NNE-SSW running field boundary at NW and SW. Classified by McCaffrey (1952, 197, no. 40) as an 'Earthen fort' which was defined by the very denuded remains of a bank '154' [46.9m] long 8' [2.4m] wide and 2'3" [0.7m] wide'. On inspection in November 1982 all that was visible was a long bank running parallel to the field boundary which did not appear to be of any archaeological significance. No visible surface trace of the enclosure survived. Testing in advance of the proposed construction of two dwelling houses was undertaken at the site in May 2005. No features or artefacts of archaeological significance were revealed (Fitzpatrick and Rooney 2005). Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 8 March 2019

- GA103-137001 Ecclesiastical enclosure
Description
On a slight rise in rough grazing land. On inspection in March 1983 this poorly preserved subcircular ecclesiastical enclosure (c. 77m E-W; c. 72m N-S) was defined by an overgrown collapsed bank of earth and stone. A gap at NE appeared to be modern. The interior was also heavily overgrown but the remains of a church (GA103-137002-) lay in the SE quadrant and a children's burial ground (GA103-137003-) was also associated. No visible surface trace was noted of what appeared to McCaffrey (1952, 82, 197,no. 41) to be the 'remains of hut sites near the church' or the 'field walls' - internal divisions radiating from its walls. On re-inspection in June 2013 it was noted that some clearance had occurred, particularly in the S half of the enclosure resulting in damage to its inner face as well to the church. Recorded by Gwynn and Hadcock (1970, 392) as a 'small early monastery site.' (Killanin and Duignan 1967, 317) Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 2 September 2019
- GA103-137002 Church
Description
Within the SE quadrant of an ecclesiastical enclosure (GA103-137001-). On inspection in March 1983 only the foundations of this poorly preserved rectangular church (E-W; L c. 4m; Wth 2.9m) survived. There was a doorway in the W gable but no other architectural features were visible. On re-inspection in June 2013 it was noted that the church had been damaged following the clearance of overgrowth in the interior of the ecclesiastical enclosure. (McCaffrey 1952, 82, 197, no. 41; Killanin and Duignan 1967, 317) Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 2 September 2019
- GA103-137003 Children's burial ground
Description
Within the SE quadrant of an associated ecclesiastical enclosure (GA103-137001-); indicated in name only on the OS 6-inch mapping. On inspection in March 1983 no visible surface trace survived. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 2 September 2019
