• GA125-061 Designed landscape feature
  Description

  In undulating pastureland. Marked on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a small irregular field and on the 1920 edition as an enclosed mixed tree plantation (c. 39m NW-SE; c. 33m NE-SW). No visible surface trace survives. The cartographic evidence suggest that this was a landscape feature associated with Danesfort House which is c. 400m to the E. • GA125-062 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  On a rise in hilly pastureland, c. 50m to the SW of Danesfort House. This poorly preserved circular rath (diam. 33m) is defined by an inner scarp, an intervening berm, an outer bank/scarp and an outer fosse. The inner scarp survives all round while the berm is only clearly evident at the SE. Slight traces of a possible outer bank are visible at SE, elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element.   Description

  In undulating pastureland. A hachured feature marked on the 1920 edition of the OS 6-inch map proved on inspection in 1983 to be a quarry. As it is of post-AD 1700 date it does not come within the remit of the Archaeological Survey of Ireland. Incorrectly classified as Ringfort (Rath \ Cashel) Bi-vallate in the RMP (1997).
