Description
In pasture, on S-facing slope. Circular area (diam. c. 30m) defined by earthen bank (H 3.45m) SE->SSW, incorporated into the field fence system. Interior cuts into upslope to N. Description
In grassland, on break in SE-facing slope. Circular area (30m N-S; 30m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.6m); shallow fosse to N and NW (D 0.4m). Bank stone faced in parts; survives best NNW->NNE; field clearance material dumped on outer bank face to SE. Breaks in bank to NE and SW joined by trackway crossing interior. Description
In pasture, on a S-facing slope. According to local information, this field is known as the 'keel field'. 'Keel' is possibly a form of the Irish word 'cillíneach' which means a childern's burial ground. There are, however, no visible remains of any burial ground at ground level.
