In pasture on SE-facing slope. Roughly rectangular area (6.8m N-S; 5.8m E-W) raised c. 0.5m above surrounding field; abuts rock outcrop to S. Surface strewn with stones, some upright. Traditionally known as burial ground (Roberts 1988). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
