Description
In tillage, on S-facing slope. Shown on OS 6-inch maps as hachured semicircular area (c. 20m N-S) on W side of N-S road. Noted by Power (1923, 186) as '....lios, small and circular, with rampart 5ft high, bisected by a road'. Small portion of earthen bank (H 1.4m) survives to SW. Differential growth pattern indicates site to W of road; no surface trace to E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Description
In quarry, built against rockface. Front (H c. 7.5m; Wth 6m) SE-facing; arched recess (H 2.4m; Wth 2.45m; D 2m), lintelled at rear. Original stone-arched recess partially infilled at top; now supported by lower brick arch. Rear of kiln enclosed by wall (H 1.8m) with ope (Wth 1.3m) in E elevation; ramp on W side. Stone-lined funnel (max. Wth 2.65m) beaker-shaped in cross-section. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Description
Detached three-bay two-storey central block with single-bay single-storey wings connecting to single-bay single-storey pavilions, built c. 1790, having single-bay two-story flat-roofed return to rear (north) elevation, and recent flat-roofed single-bay single-storey glazed extension to front elevation of east wing. Hipped slate roofs to main block and pavilions, lean-to corrugated fibre roof to west wing, flat roof to east wing. Rendered chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls, rubble stone walls to pavilions with arched niches having limestone sills. Square-headed openings with timber sliding sash windows, six-over-six pane to front (south) elevation, and six-over-six and two-over-two pane to rear elevation. Timber and steel-framed casement windows to rear elevation. Round-headed opening with nine-over-six pane timber sliding sash window to rear elevation. Pedimented square-headed door opening to front elevation with Doric pilasters and entablature, having timber panelled door with carved architrave. Square-headed openings with half-glazed timber battened doors to rear elevation. Yard to rear with recent outbuildings, having rubble stone boundary walls with square-profile piers and cast-iron double-leaf gates. Yard to rear of yard with rendered square-profile pier and wrought-iron double-leaf gates. Circular plan pond with rendered walls and curved benches to front of site. Rendered square-profile piers and wrought-iron double-leaf gates to site entrance.

Quay, pier and walls, dated 1880. Drystone walls with clay bank forming rear (west) wall of quay, having carved date stone, and north wall of quay. Rubble stone facing to pier with cut limestone coping stones.
