Description
In level rough grazing. Hachured as circular mound on OS 6-inch map (1935 ); W half now levelled. Semicircular raised platform (H 0.65m; 35m N-S; 13m E-W) with external fosse and low outer bank. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). Description
In pasture, on gentle sloping hill. Excavated by Sweetman (1981, 193-205). Excavation revealed area enclosed by bank and moat (D c. 2m). Penny of Edward 1 dating to 1279-80 found under S bank gives construction date. Interior: remains of rectangular stone structure (A). Inside, trenches (L 1m - 2m; Wth 0.25m; D 0.25m) running parallel to side walls probably held wooden beams. Also numerous post-holes and eight informal hearths. Another square stone structure (B) outside NE corner of A was interpreted as a refuse collection area or garderobe. Remains of stone gatehouse (C) built against inner face of moat to E; outer face of structure battered. Finds include second penny of Edward 1, Medieval and Post-Medieval pottery, spindle whorls, net weight and pieces of iron. Overgrown. See McCarthy, M. 2002 'Rigsdale; Medieval moated site', in I. Description
Detached three-bay single-storey with dormer attic house, built c.1780, having recent single-bay single-storey addition to side (north-east) and recent lean-to addition to rear (north-west). Pitched corrugated-iron roof with rendered gable copings, chimneystacks and cast-iron rainwater goods. Lined-and-ruled rendered walls throughout. Square-headed window openings with limestone and render sills, having replacement timber casement and one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening to front (south-east) elevation having replacement glazed timber door. Associated outbuilding to south-west, having pitched corrugated-steel roof and rendered walls. Square-headed door openings having single- and double-leaf replacement timber doors. Rubble limestone walls and hedge enclosing site having square-profile rendered gate piers with moulded rendered caps and single-leaf cast-iron pedestrian gate.

Description
Freestanding cast-iron water pump, installed c.1880. Banded cylindrical shaft, domed fluted cap and banded spout with plain bucket grip and curved cow tail handle. Located at road side within recent rendered enclosing wall.
