Description
Detached gable-fronted single-storey hospital building, c. 1875. Pitched slate roof. East gable wall in red brick with contrasting brick arches around openings and contrasting brick courses. Roughcast render finish to rest of building. Round-headed tripartite window opening with decorative fanlight and oculus to east gable. Two over two timber sash windows to western gable with oculus and small camber headed window.

Description
Attached multiple-bay single-storey building, built 1841, formerly the dining hall and chapel of the Cork Union Workhouse with single-storey structures set perpendicular to east and west of north end of the chapel, forming part of the original H-plan workhouse building complex. Adjoins former workhouse infirmary buildings to the south. Three-bay single-storey structure with half-dormer attic added to north and double-height structure having red-brick chimney flue added to north-west corner c.1880. Now forming part of St. Finbarr's Hospital complex and not in use. Pitched slate roof to chapel and east wing, with artificial slate to the west wing and the southernmost bays of the main chapel building. Hipped slate roof with dormer windows having decorative bargeboards to the north extension block. Coursed rubble limestone walls to the chapel building with rendered walls to remaining elevations. Snecked limestone to north-west extension. Square-headed window openings with red brick surrounds and replacement metal-framed windows (chapel building), two-over-two timber casement windows (north elevation, west wing), two-over-two timber sash windows (ground floor and dormer attic of north extension). uPVC windows elsewhere. Camber-headed openings to north-west extension with eight pane casement windows. Round-headed door opening to north elevation of north extension having three-pane timber fanlight and retaining original panelled door frame, now blocked up.

Description
Attached multiple-bay two-storey building, completed 1841, formerly the infirmary and idiot's wards of the Cork Union Workhouse which adjoined the dining hall and chapel located to the north. Four two-storey returns to rear with eastern end partially demolished. Now forming part of St. Finbarr's Hospital complex with hospital extension to west. Pitched slate and artificial slate roofs with uPVC rainwater goods. Coursed squared limestone walls with some sections rendered. Square-headed window openings with limestone sills, brick surrounds and uPVC windows. Square-headed door openings with enlarged entrance to the west elevation, all having uPVC doors and fittings. Enclosed by a high coursed rubble limestone wall on three sides, forming part of the original workhouse enclosure.

Description
Detached two-storey E-plan entrance block to former workhouse, opened 1841, having gabled end bays and double-height three-bay arcaded entrance lobby, box-bay to west gable, single- and two-storey additions to east c.1880 and various single-storey additions to south, one of incorporates an arched walkway from the main hallway. Now forming part of St. Finbarr's Hospital complex. Pitched artificial slate roofs having rendered chimneystacks, limestone coping to gables, carved kneelers to north and south gables, stepped parapet to south with limestone coping and some cast-iron rainwater goods. Squared random coursed limestone walls with cut limestone quoins, string course to north elevation and cut limestone plaque to parapet. Some roughcast render to south elevation and extensions. Square-headed window openings with limestone hood mouldings to north gable-fronts, limestone sills and various two-over-two, twelve-over-two, six-over-six and one-over-one timber sash windows. Some windows now blocked. Arcade to north comprised Tudor-arch openings set in ashlar limestone surrounds and supported on square-profile piers. Provides access to two-storey interior with painted and limewashed walls with two limestone dog-leg cantilevered staircases with cast-iron railings providing access to first floor timber landing supported on cast-iron brackets. Tudor-arch opening at ground level provides access through walkway to south elevation with door frame retained. Main entrance to first floor level has timber architrave to timber panelled door with glazed upper panels and glazed sidelights. Further square-headed door openings lead off from the balcony with timber panelled and timber panelled and glazed doors.
