Description
Triangular area projecting SW from, and running parallel to, mainland. Westropp (1914-16, 107) recorded 'a deep curved fosse' across neck and 'a fenced interior', measuring '69ft in each direction being nearly circular'. Bank (H 4.7m) and fosse (D 4.1m) with counterscarp bank (H 1.3m) defend neck of promontory. Interior much eroded and collapsed into sea. Description
A partially exposed drystone-walled souterrain was recorded here in 1993 (pers. comm. Rose M. Cleary). The exposed section had c. 0.6m high walls and large roof lintels (exposed length 1.2m). Description
Discovered in 1966. Remains consisted of a slab-lined grave (L 1.8m; Wth 0.48m; H 0.36m) covered by lintels containing an extended inhumation of an adult male. There were no accompanying artefacts. A radiocarbon date for the burial ranges from 545-664 AD calibrated (NMI files). Description
Fulucht fiadh material was found while carrying out test excavation on the north side of a large, north facing field of pasture, under licence 17E0049. Close to a field boundary and drain, this area was low lying, wet and boggy. The material extended for c3m within one trench only indicating it is relatively small in extent and could have been partially damaged by a recent land drain running through the area. Semi-detached three-bay single-storey house, built c.1930, having gable-fronted projecting end bay to front (north-east) elevation. Pitched artificial slate roof with overhanging eaves, rendered chimneystacks and uPVC rainwater goods. Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with rendered sills, having timber-framed tripartite windows with two-over-two pane sliding sash windows to front elevation openings. Square-headed door opening having glazed timber door with rendered stepped approach. Rendered enclosing wall with square-profile gate piers and wrought-iron gate.

Detached three-bay two-storey former school, built c.1880, having lean-to addition to side (west) and two-storey addition and recent extensions to rear (south) including porch. Located on site of earlier building. Pitched slate roof with red brick chimneystacks, rendered eaves and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered chimneystack and uPVC rainwater goods to rear addition. Rendered walls throughout. Square-headed window openings with rendered and stone sills throughout, having six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows to front elevation, two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows to side (east). One-over-one pane timber sliding sash window to side (east) elevation and timber casement windows elsewhere. Round-headed window opening to front (north) elevation, having timber casement window. Square-headed door openings to rear extensions, having replacement panelled timber and glazed timber doors. Rendered rubble stone enclosing wall.

Description
Detached three-bay single-storey with dormer attic former gate lodge, built c.1820, having gable-fronted porch to front (south) and later single-storey gabled additions to rear (north). Half dormer windows with gablets to front and side (east, west) elevations. Hipped slate roof to main block with timber-clad overhanging eaves, rendered chimneystack, uPVC rainwater goods and timber bargeboards to gablets. Pitched slate roofs with timber bargeboards to porch and rear additions. Rendered walls throughout. Square-headed window openings with rendered sills, having single pointed arch window opening with rendered sill to front (north) elevation half dormer, now blocked. Square-headed door opening to front (south) elevation of porch, now blocked. Rendered boundary walls.

Description
Freestanding five-bay two-storey former country house, built c.1820, having glazed timber porch to front (north-west), bowed bay to side (north-east) canted bay and two-bay two-storey addition to side (south-west). Numerous additions to rear (south-east). Now in use as hotel. Hipped slate roof to main block having overhanging rendered eaves with paired timber corbels and cast-iron rainwater. Flat bitumen-clad roof to porch and side (south-west) addition, having overhanging timber-clad eaves to porch. Flat bitumen-clad roofs and pitched slate roofs to additions, having rendered chimneystacks and uPVC rainwater goods. Rendered walls with chamfered plinth throughout. Glazed timber panelled walls to porch. Square-headed window openings with stone and rendered sills throughout, having three-over-three pane timber sliding sash windows to main block and side (south-west) addition. Timber-framed tripartite windows to side (north-east) elevation of northern most addition, having central two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows flanked by one-over-one pane timber sliding sash sidelights. uPVC casement windows elsewhere. Fixed margined timber-framed windows to porch over timber panelled stall risers, surmounted by multiple-pane overlights. Square-headed door opening to porch, having double-leaf glazed timber door surmounted by multiple-pane overlights. Round-headed door opening to interior of porch, having glazed timber double-leaf doors surmounted by spoked fanlight. Rendered and crenellated rubble stone enclosing walls with square-profile rendered gate piers to north-west.

Description
Detached two-bay single-storey double-pile former boathouse, built c.1820, having paired crenellated rubble stone gables to front (north-west) elevation, now in use as equestrian centre. Pitched artificial slate and corrugated-iron roofs having rubble stone eaves course and rendered gable copings. Rubble stone walls throughout. Partially blocked round-headed former carriageway openings with rubble stone voussoirs to front elevation, having replacement timber-framed Diocletian windows. Square-headed window opening to rear (south-east) elevation, having timber sill, lintel and frame with timber battened shutter. Square-headed door opening to rear elevation, having timber lintel and timber battened door.
