Description
Approached by laneway from S; roughly rectangular graveyard (c. 60m E-W; c. 50m N-S) enclosed by earthen fence which curves outwards on W side. Partially overgrown, but still occasionally used for burial; earliest inscribed headstones dated to 1780s, two chest tombs dated 1727 & 1818 (Coleman 1907-9i). Rectangular church (CO063-031002-), labelled 'in ruins', depicted in NW quadrant on 1842 OS 6-inch map, but marked 'site of' on 1904 OS 6-inch map; slight rise now marks site. This was ancient parish church of Templesque, in ruins by 1615 (Brady 1863, vol. 1, 351). Bullaun stone (CO063-109----) in centre of graveyard. Description
In graveyard (CO063-031001-). Rectangular church labelled 'in ruins' depicted in NW quadrant of graveyard on 1842 OS 6-inch map, but marked 'site of' on 1904 OS 6-inch map; slight rise now marks site. This was ancient parish church of Templesque, in ruins by 1615 (Brady 1863, vol. 1, 351). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Description
In pasture, on E-facing slope. Circular area (42.5m N-S) defined by slightscarp NNW->SE; earthen, stone-faced bank (H 1.6m) survives in field fence system SE->SSW, with shallow external fosse (D 0.3m).
