  Description

  Roughly oval flat-topped mound (max. dims. c. 42m N-S, c. 28m E-W, max. H c. 3.5m) situated in low lying area on W bank of the Black River. Parts of N and W sides quarried away. Defined by shallow fosse (Wth c. 2.5m, D 0.5m) on all but the river side, and a slight external bank from SE-SSW.   Description

  Situated on W bank of the Black River. A subcircular enclosure (max. ext. diam. c. 30m N-S) defined by an inner bank (max. Wth c. 5.5m; ext. H 1.3m) best preserved from S-NNW, an intervening fosse (Wth at base 1.3m), and an outer bank which is only barely discernible from S-W but more pronounced at N. The site is badly overgrown, full of badger holes, and drainage spoil lies between it and the river. Possibly a ringfort.
