- KK020-040001 Enclosure
Description
In tillage. Identified as a cropmark of the fosse of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 65m) on aerial photographs (CUCAP BDH099, 14 July 1970 and BDR055, 18 July 1970) and visible on ASIAP (16) 31, 1995 and (113) 30-32, 22 July 2000. Adjoining the S sector is a rectilinear feature, possibly part of an associated field system (KK020-040002-). On the aerial photograph a field boundary is visible running roughly E-W across the S portion of the monument, it has since been removed. See attached aerial photographs: KK020-040001-_01 CUCAP BDH099, 14 July 1970 KK020-040001-_02 CUCAP BDR055, 18 July 1970 Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 8 December 2020
- KK020-040002 Field system
Description
In tillage. Identified as a cropmark of a rectilinear feature on aerial photographs (CUCAP BDH099, 14 July 1970 and BDR055, 18 July 1970). Possibly part of a field system associated with an enclosure (KK020-040001-) which adjoins to the N. A modern field boundary, visible on the aerial photograph running E-W immediately N of the rectilinear feature, has since been removed. Since c. 2011 a farm roadway runs ENE-WSW across the rectilinear feature. Another field system (KK020-096----), faintly visible as a cropmark on the CUCAP aerial photographs and clearly visible on a later aerial photograph (GB96.FW.27, 20 July 1996; ASIAP (113) 31-32, 22 July 2000), extends northeastward from the NE quadrant of the enclosure before turning S. It appears to be on a different axis from the system to the S. See attached aerial photographs: KK020-040002-_01 CUCAP BDH099, 14 July 1970 KK020-040002-_02 CUCAP BDR055, 18 July 1970 Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 8 December 2020

Description
Aerial photographs (GB96.FW.27, 20 July 1996; ASIAP (113) 31-32, 22 July 2000) shows a cropmark of a curving fosse delineating an incomplete enclosure, with an entrance facing NW, extending to the NE of a circular enclosure (KK020-040001-) and probably representing an associated field system. There is another field system (KK020-040002-) adjoining the circular enclosure to the SW. See attached ASI aerial photograph Compiled by: Dr. Gillian Barrett for the Archaeological Survey of Ireland and Jean Farrelly Date of revised upload: 8 December 2020
