- RO012-018 Ringfort - rath
Description
Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a small circular feature (diam. c. 20m), and situated on a gentle SE-facing slope of a broad drumlin. It was described in 1955 as a circular area (diam. c. 18m N-S) defined by a slight earthen bank (max. H c. 0.4m) and hedge with traces of an outer fosse (SMR file). It was described as a circular area defined by an eroded earthen bank and outer fosse (Gannon 1972). It is no longer visible at ground level in reclaimed pasture. Rath (RO012-019----) is c. 150m to the SE, and enclosure (RO012-021----) is c. 180m to the NW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 2 January 2012

Description
Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on a SE-facing slope of a broad drumlin. D-shaped grass-covered area (dims. 29m E-W; 23m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4-4.2m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.95m) and fosse (Wth of base 2-2.5m) NW-N, and scarp (H 0.55-0.8m) elsewhere. There is no visible entrance, and the site is truncated by an E-W drystone wall and townland boundary with Kilmore at S. Rath (RO012-018----) is c. 150m to the NW. Description
On the N-facing slope of a broad drumlin Oval grass-covered area (dims 50.8m N-S; 37m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.1m at S to 0.6-0.8m generally). There is no visible fosse or entrance at ground level, but the enclosure is visible on the digitalglobe images. Rath (RO012-018----) is c. 180m to the SE.
