  Description

  Located at the bottom of a NE-facing slope, in a WNW-ESE valley. This is a D-shaped grass and scrub-covered area (dims 35.8m E-W; 25m N-S) that slopes down to the E (H c. 3.5m). It is defined by a fosse (Wth of top 5.4m; Wth of base 2.4m; int. D 0.9m; ext. D 0.5m) SW-NW and a low bank (at S: Wth 3.9m; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1.4m) or scarp (at E: H 0.6m) elsewhere. There is an entrance gap (Wth 3m) at SE and the monument is truncated by a WNW-ESE road bank at N.   Description

  Situated just off the summit of a NW-SE drumlin ridge on the NE-facing slope. It is depicted as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. c. 35m) on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’, and as an arc of hachures NW-E-SE on the 1907 edition. A steep scrub-covered scarp (max. H 3.5m) survives NW-E-SE (diam. 35m NW-SE) which melds into the slope at either extremity, but the perimeter cannot be traced elsewhere.   Description

  Situated on a low NNW-SSE ridge between Drumillard Lough c. 100m to the W and Drumaconvern Lough c. 200m to the E. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. 30.6m NW-SE; 29m ENE-WSW) defined by a slight earthen bank (Wth 2-2.5m; int. H 0.2-0.3m; ext. H 0.8-1m) with no evidence of an external fosse. A dip in the perimeter at NNW may be the original entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).
