Description
Situated on at the crest of the N-facing slope of a broad E-W ridge and overlooking a W-E branch of the River Balckwater which is c. 140m distant. It is described as ‘Lisbough (Site of)’ in gothic lettering on the 1907 and 1949 editions of the OS 6-inch map. No archaeological feature is visible at ground level in pasture. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 12 December 2017

Description
Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1860, having gabled projecting west end bay to front (south) elevation, lean-to porch to west, and lean-to entrance porch to front re-entrant angle. Pitched slate roof with red brick chimneystacks and clay pots. Timber bargeboards and pointed finials, exposed timber roof truss terminals to eaves, dormer window to front and with replacement rainwater goods. Coursed rubble sandstone walls having block-and-start quoins. Gauged-brick square-headed window openings with red brick surrounds, render sills, and timber sliding sash windows, one-over-one pane to east, west and first floor of front elevations, two-over-two pane to first floor rear (north) elevation. Gauged-brick segmental-headed window opening to ground floor of projecting bay having red brick surrounds and replacement uPVC window. Replacement UPVC window to front of lean-to extension and to ground floor rear. Gauged-brick square-headed door opening, with timber panelled door and stone step to east side of porch, timber battened door to rear, timber panelled door to lean-to to west elevation. Low stone boundary wall having stone coping and single-leaf wrought-iron pedestrian gate surrounding yard to front of house.

Description
Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c.1870, having banded cylindrical shaft, fluted neck and fluted domed cap with pointed finial. Spout having ram's head bucket grip, fluted collar and banding above spout. Cow's tail pump handle terminating in ball grip. Pump set in concrete plinth atop concrete platform with square-plan painted concrete piers having render capping and mild steel railings.
