  Description

  Located on the summit of a broad plateau and towards its E edge. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 40-42m) with some scrub defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth c. 5m; int. H 1m generally to 1.5m at S; ext. H 3-4m), with an outer fosse (Wth c. 3m; ext. D 0.3-0.6m) S-W-NE. The original entrance (Wth of base 3.5m) is at SE and there is a modern one at S. Inside the bank at N is a grass-covered depression (dims 14.2m N-S; 3.4m E-W; D 0.5m), which might be a collapsed souterrain although there is no evidence of stones. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). • Radeerpark National School, school, 1865–1870 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached gable-fronted single-storey school, dated 1869, having three-bay side elevations and projecting three-bay entrance projection. Now in use as house. Hipped replacement slate roof, replacement rainwater goods, painted masonry coping to gable-front, timber eaves course and red brick chimneystack with stepped profile. Ruled-and-lined rendered walls with painted dressed stone block-and-start quoins and plinth course. Inscribed dressed date plaque to apex of gable-front. Square-headed window openings, having render reveals, painted masonry sills, and replacement timber windows. Square-headed door opening to front, with replacement timber door, opening onto two stone steps. Square-headed door opening to rear, having replacement timber door, opening onto two stone steps. Square-plan dressed stone piers with render caps, flanking single-leaf wrought-iron pedestrian gate to front.

• Radeerpark Creamery, creamery, 1890–1910 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached three-bay former creamery, built c.1900. Pitched corrugated asbestos roof, with cast-iron ridge tiles, round-plan sheet metal chimney, pitched louvered metal roof-vents, and with decorative timber bargeboards to gables. Corrugated-iron cladding to walls, on cement rendered plinth base. Square-headed window openings, having timber surrounds and fittings, render sill to west elevation. Square-headed vent opening to apex of north elevation, with timber fittings. Square-headed former openings to east elevation with render sills, now boarded up. Square-headed door openings to east elevation, having corrugated-iron sliding door, opening onto rendered loading platform. Square-headed door opening to ground level of west elevation and to top of loading platform, with timber battened doors. Square-headed door opening at ground level to south elevation with double-leaf timber battened door. Some machinery to interior.
