Description
Located just off the summit of a N-S drumlin ridge on the W side. This monument is depicted as a circular feature on McCrea’s map of County Monaghan (1793). It is a circular grass and scrub -covered area (diam. 35.2m N-S; 34m E-W) that slopes down to the W (H 2.6m). it is defined by an earthen bank (at E: Wth 6m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 0.7m) with some bushes which is incorporated into a field bank E-SW but is reduced to a scarp (at W: Wth 3m; H 1.4m) SW-NW (downslope). There is an entrance (Wth of base 2m) at S, but there is no visible fosse. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 8 December 2017

Description
Located towards the bottom of the E-facing spine of a N-S drumlin ridge. A circular enclosure at Tullymackilmartin is depicted on McCrea’s map of Co. Monaghan (1793) in this area but the precise location is uncertain. No archaeological feature is visible at ground level in pasture. Description
Detached three-bay single-storey house, dated 1857, formerly in use as post office, with outbuildings to rear. Pitched slate roof with red brick chimneystacks. Rubble stone walls with tooled quoins. Square-headed window openings having cut stone label-mouldings and sills and timber casement windows. Square-headed door opening having pointed cut-stone label-moulding and half-glazed timber double-leaf door. Timber date plaque over entrance and post office signage over north bay window. Two-storey outbuilding to rear having pitched slate roof, rubble stone walls, square-headed openings and timber battened door and shutters and single-storey outbuilding attached to south gable. Set back from roadside, having rubble stone boundary walls to north and south of site, with wrought-iron pedestrian entrance gate to south, wrought-iron pedestrian and farm gate to north.

Description
Freestanding gable-fronted Roman Catholic Church, built c.1820, remodelled 1908, having four-bay nave and projecting entrance. Now in use as community centre. Pitched slate roof having stone copings with cross gable apex finials to gables, decorative ridge cresting and cast-iron rainwater goods. Painted roughcast rendered walls set on painted smooth rendered plinth. Pointed-arch window openings having painted smooth rendered block and start surrounds, hood-mouldings and painted stone sills with replacement windows. Pointed-arch door opening to front elevation having painted smooth rendered block and start surround, hood-moulding and replacement timber door with timber Y-traceried fanlight. Square-headed door opening to entrance having recent timber door. Interior has smooth rendered ceiling and part-exposed timber roof structure resting on masonry corbels, rubble stone walls having smooth rendered reveals and surrounds to windows, smooth rendered wall below dado level, and recent partitions accommodating kitchen, offices, toilets and circulation to north end. Church set within graveyard. Square-plan painted rendered gate piers with metal gate and painted stone wall to rear (north). Hedgerow to remaining boundaries.
