• MO009-006 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated just off the top of a NNE-SSW drumlin ridge on the E side. A curve in a field bank NE-S indicates the rath, but the field bank had been removed. Nevertheless a slightly raised circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 27m N-S; c. 25m E-W) defined by a broad but slight is visible in pasture. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of revision: 12 December 2017

• MO009-058 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Located at the highest point at the S end of a NNE-SSW drumlin ridge. A curved field boundary describing a U-shape E-S-W (diam. c. 20m E-W) at the S angle of a triangular haggard that is marked only on the 1907 edition of the OS 6-inch map may be the remnant of an ancient enclosure. No ancient or modern features survive. Date of upload: 14 April 2011
