  Description

  Situated on the central of three summits on an ENE-WSW drumlin ridge. This is a circular grass-covered area (diam. c. 25m) defined by a slight bank with some bushes that is largely reduced to a scarp (at S: H 1.6m), with traces of an external fosse at WNW. The original entrance is not identified, but an outer bank was recorded in the 1940s (SMR file). There is a NE-SW field bank just to the NW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). • MO017-012 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Located towards the top of the E-facing slope of an ENE-WSW drumlin ridge. This rath is represented on McCrea’s map of County Monaghan (1793), and on the 1834 and 1907 editions of the OS 6-inch map. It is a circular grass-covered area with mature deciduous trees defined by an earthen bank separated by rounded fosse from an outer earthen bank (at S: Wth of base 6.3m; int. H 0.65m; ext. H 1.4m). There is an entrance through the inner (Wth 4m) and outer (Wth 3.5m) banks at ESE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).   Description

  Single-arch limestone railway bridge, built c.1850, over stream. Roughly-hewn limestone blocks built to courses. Round arch with rock-faced voussoirs and dressed soffit. Sloping limestone buttresses to both elevations.

• Lisalea House, house, 1850–1870 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey L-plan house over basement, built c.1860, with flat-roofed porch to front, and three-bay south elevation. Hipped natural slate roof with paired timber brackets to eaves, pair of smooth rendered chimneystacks to mid-ridge and one to return with rendered copings and terracotta pots. Smooth rendered walls with rendered block-and-start quoins and rendered plinth course. Square-headed window openings, with replacement uPVC windows. Square-headed door opening with timber panelled door to south-east side of porch. Yard of outbuildings to rear, one with pitched corrugated-iron and slate roofs and rubble stone walling. Recent double-leaf metal gate and railings to road frontage.
