  Description

  Located on the NW-facing slope of a slight NE-SW ridge in a low-lying landscape. In 1984 part of a souterrain was uncovered during ploughing. About 5m to the SE another portion came to light, which is described locally as the junction of two passages. Another souterrain (MO028-138----) is c. 40m to the SW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). • MO028-138 Souterrain
  Description

  Located on the NW-facing slope of a slight E-SW ridge in a low-lying landscape. There are local reports of a hollow sound at a location c. 40m SW of the souterrain (MO028-137----). Its precise location is not known. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). • MO028-141 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated on a low-lying landscape. A subcircular embanked enclosure (ext. dims c. 25m E-W; 30m N-S) described in gothic lettering as a ‘fort’ is depicted at this location on the 1834 edition of the OS 6-inch map and as an oval hachured feature (dims c. 25m N-S; c. 15-20m) on the 1907 edition. This is an overgrown oval area (dims 36m N-S; 30m E-W) with some trees. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). • MO028-146 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  Situated in a low-lying position between drumlins. A circular earthwork is depicted on McCrea’s map of County Monaghan (1793) south of the W-E road from Drumlusty. It is not marked on later OS maps but the monument is visible as a vegetation mark of a circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) defined by a single fosse feature on aerial images (OSAP 1995).
