  Description

  Located at the crest of the S-facing slope of a NW-SE drumlin ridge. This is an overgrown subcircular area (dims c. 33m E-W; c. 24m N-S), disturbed by badger sets, which is defined by an overgrown earthen bank (at N: Wth 3.8m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.9m) W-N-E and by a scarp elsewhere. There is no visible fosse, but there is an entrance (Wth 1.5m) at E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Circular area surrounded by earthen bank. Gap at E may be original.

  Description

  Located at the bottom of a S-facing slope and on the N bank of a SW-NE section of the River Lagan. This is a subrectangular grass-covered area (dims 28.5m NW-SE: 26.5m NE-SW) sloping down to the SE (H 2m), which is defined by overgrown earthen banks (at W: Wth 2.9m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.65m) SW-N-NE, reduced to a scarp elsewhere. There is no visible fosse, and while there are gaps in the perimeter at WSE, W and NE, but the original entrance is not identified. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Monaghan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1986).   Description

  Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1920, having gabled entrance porch to front (west) elevation. Pitched slate roof with red brick gable-end chimneystacks with cornices, pitched slate roof to entrance porch with terracotta finial, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Render removed, exposing rubble stone walls. Square-headed window openings, having one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows with ogee horns and coloured glass margined lights to front elevation, and two-over-two pane windows with convex horns to rear of first floor, openings to rear ground floor blocked up. Square-headed door opening with timber panelled door with replacement timber door, sidelights and over-light, and concrete steps. Recent timber fence and gate to site boundary.
