  Description

  Burnt in 1921, only ground floor of front wall survives, of 7 bays with central door ope approached by flight of steps. Described by Bence-Jones (1978, 251) as 'plain 3-storey 8-bay C18 house. Later porch with columns at corners'. Cobbled yard to rear has 2-storey ranges of farm buildings with central pedimented breakfront. Walled garden to E (occupied by modern house); private burial ground to W (last interment 1981); two lodges and some tree rings. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).   Description

  Entrance gates to Ryecourt House, erected c.1800, comprising circular profile carved limestone gate piers with square-profile plinths and capping stones with stylised acanthus motifs, supporting wrought-iron double-leaf gates. Square-profile limestone piers and plinths to sides (north, south), having cast-iron railings, flanked by lined-and-ruled rendered walls with cut limestone coping and plinth. Derelict gate lodge with pedimented gable to front (north-west), now overgrown. Cut limestone stringcourse to pediment. Limestone corner pilasters to ashlar sandstone walls with cut limestone sill course. Square-headed window opening with cut limestone surround and timber battened fitting.

  Description

  Farmyard complex, built c.1800, comprising multiple-bay two-storey ranges, with pediment central breakfront to north-east range. Now disused. Pitched artificial slate and corrugated roof to north-east range, roof missing to south-west range. Rubble stone walls with cut limestone and dogtooth brick eaves to pediment. Elliptical window opening to breakfront with oculus window openings to upper floors, having red brick surrounds. Square-headed window and door openings with red brick block-and-start surrounds to ground floor, having timber casement windows and timber battened doors. Venetian window opening with red brick surround to side (north-west) gable of north-east range, now blocked. Segmental-headed arches to south-west range with dressed voussoirs. Set within own grounds, having cast-iron railings on limestone plinth wall with cut limestone capping stones. Cast-iron posts supporting double-leaf cast-iron gates.

  Single-arch bridge, built c.1865, carrying road over former railway line. Segmental-headed arch with margined rusticated limestone voussoirs and rubble stone soffit. Coursed rusticated limestone opposing walls with stringcourse. Flanking splayed walls of rusticated limestone construction to west.

  Freestanding pole mounted rectangular cast-iron road sign, erected c.1940, having curved corners, text in Irish and English and harp motif. Located on roadside.

  Detached three-bay two-storey former dispensary, built c.1890, with paired single-storey canted bay windows to front (south), two-storey return and lean-to stairwell block to rear (north) and recent flat-roofed extensions to rear and side (west) elevations. Now in use as private house. Pitched artificial slate roof with rendered chimneystacks and uPVC rainwater goods. Hipped slate roofs to return and canted bay windows having rendered eaves courses. Roughcast rendered wall to front, rendered elsewhere having rendered plinth throughout. Square-headed window openings with painted stone sills and one-over-one pane timber sliding sash windows throughout. Round-headed window opening with render sill and replacement uPVC casement window to stairwell. Square-headed door opening with limestone step to front elevation, having glazed timber door. Set within own grounds having square-profile roughcast rendered piers to west of site.
