  Description

  Situated on a broad plateau in a low-lying landscape. The cropmark of a subcircular enclosure (diam. c. 45m) defined by a single fosse feature is visible on aerial photograph (CUCAP, BDR 12), but it is not visible at ground level in pasture. It is also visible on digital aerial photographs (WX036-028_1 to _4) taken in 2006. Archaeological testing (08E0948) immediately to the NE of the encosure failed to produce any related material (McLoughlin 2011a). • WX036-029 Moated site
  Description

  Marked as double rectangular enclosure defined by earthen banks or moats on the 1839 ed. of the OS 6 inch map, but only the E enclosure is now visible in pasture. It is situated on a slight rise. This is a rectangular area (dims. 40m N-S; 37m E-W) defined by water-filled fosse (Wth 6m) at S and a field drain (Wth 6m) at W. The moats (Wth c. 6m) at N and E are visible as vegetation change and a slight dip in the surface of the field. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wexford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1996).   Description

  Marked on the 1839 and 1924 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and described as Tobermoyhir in gothic lettering on both. It is situated in the densely overgrown ravine of a small W-E stream, and on its N bank but it was not identified. There is no record that it was venerated.
