  Description

  In pasture, on a NW-facing slope. This possible rath has been levelled and all that remains is the level ground (c. 20m NW-SE) on which it once stood. According to the landowner, a remaining portion of the bank along the N arc was levelled some years ago. The possible rath is indicated on the 1894 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). • KE059-015 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In pasture, at the summit of a hill. The rath is indicated on the 1894 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 45m) crossed by a NNW-SSE field boundary to the SW of the centre. The enclosing earthen bank (Wth 6.8m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.55m) survives NW-S abutting the field boundary at SW. No visible surface trace of the rath is evident on the SW side of the field boundary. The interior is domed, in keeping with the profile of the hill top. According to local information, this rath was used as a children's burial ground (KE059-015001-).   In a rath (KE059-015----). According to local information, the rath was used as a children's burial ground. There are no graves or grave-markers in evidence in the rath. • KE059-016 Ringfort - rath
  Description

  In pasture, on the summit of a gently sloping hill. A circular area (32m N-S; 32m E-W) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner earth and stone bank (Wth 6.4m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 2m) is breached in numerous places. An external berm is visible around the inner bank NW-E. Material from the inner bank at E has slumped down into the intervening fosse (Wth 2.6m). The outer bank (Wth 2.7m; ext. H 1.7m), with a break at N, is composed of similar material to the inner bank. Stone-facing, which appears to be recent, was noted along the E arc of the outer bank. There is a possible causeway entrance (Wth c. 2.5m) at NW and numerous cattle breaks through the inner bank. The interior is convex with a possible souterrain (KE059-016001-) and a possible hut site (KE059-016002-) in the S half. A lane, which was constructed in the late 1990s, skirts the outer bank externally NE-S; the ground level has been lowered here to accommodate the lane. A field boundary skirts the rath along the N arc. A depression (L c. 5m; Wth 4m; D 2m) immediately outside the outer bank at NW is a result of quarrying.   Description

  In a rath (KE059-016----). According to the landowner, this possible souterrain is blocked-up and covered by a stone flag. A depression in the S half of the rath, between the inner bank at S and a hut site (KE059-016002-) to the N, may indicate a collapsed souterrain chamber.   Description

  Within the S half of a rath (KE059-016---). The remains of a roughly circular area (4m E-W; 3.7m N-S) defined by a raised platform (H c. 0.4m). There is a slight depression in the centre. A slight projection off the E arc may indicate the entrance location. There is a possible souterrain (KE059-016001-) immediately to the S.   Description

  In pasture, mid/late 19th-century limekiln built into steep slope and abutting field boundary at SW. Random rubble front wall (H 4m; Wth 4.5m) faces SE. Central arched recess. Three horizontal ledges on front face of kiln, one to either side of recess and two above it. Funnel (diam. c. 1.3m) at top. Ramp (L c. 7m) at rear.
