Description
Situated on a fairly level landscape. In July 2018 a drone-mounted camera operated by Páid Bates (Skypix Aerial Works) recorded an image of the cropmark of a circular enclosure (int. diam. c. 25m) defined by a single fosse feature which is poorly defined but quite wide (Wth c. 5-8m). Description
Situated on a fairly level landscape. The cropmark of a D-shaped enclosure (dims c. 55m ENE-WSW; c. 40m NNW-SSE) defined by a single wide fosse feature (Wth c. 4-5m) backs on to an ENE-WSW field bank at S but there is no evidence of the feature continuing on the S side. It was recorded by a drone-mounted camera operated by Páid Bates (Skypix Aerial Works) during July 2018. Description
Located on fairly level landscape with a slight E-facing slope. In July 2018 a drone-mounted camera operated by Páid Bates (Skypix Aerial Works) recorded an image of the cropmark of a subcircular or D-shaped curvilinear enclosure (dims c. 32-35m NE-SW; c. 35m NW-SE) defined by a single narrow fosse feature with the straightest side at SE and two small entrance gaps on the NE side. It is overlain by the cropmarks of single ditches from the mapped field system that is now removed. Description
Detached four-bay single-storey lobby entry thatched farmhouse, extant 1840, on a rectangular plan off-centred on single-bay single-storey gabled windbreak. Occupied, 1990. Vacant, 2006. Undergoing "restoration", 2007. Hipped oat thatch roof on collared timber construction with pressed iron-covered ridge off-centred on replacement concrete block chimney stack, and blind stretchers to eaves having blind scallops. Limewashed roughcast battered walls with limewashed roughcast buttresses to corners (east). Square-headed off-central door opening in elliptical- or segmental-headed recess with rendered stone cobbled threshold, and concealed dressings framing timber panelled door. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills, and concealed dressings framing two-over-two timber sash windows having part exposed sash boxes with three-over-six or two-over-two timber sash windows to rear (west) elevation having part exposed sash boxes. Set perpendicular to road in unkempt grounds with limewashed piers to perimeter having shallow pyramidal capping supporting iron double gates.
