Description
Situated in pasture towards the bottom of a N-facing slope. Described in 1977 as a ringfort (diam. 32m) defined by an earthen bank which was reduced to a scarp at N (SMR file). It was removed c. 1980 when a souterrain (WA001-007001-) was revealed in the bank at E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Description
Situated in pasture towards the bottom of a N-facing slope. When the rath (WA001-007----) was removed c. 1980 a souterrain consisting of a beehive chamber and two passages was revealed in the bank at E, and some hack silver was also recoverd. Description
Situated towards the bottom of a N-facing slope. Subcircular grass-covered area (dims. 26m N-S; 24m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H 0.5-2.2m at S (upslope); ext. H 0.8m at S to 1.1m at W) NE-W which is reduced to a scarp (max. H 1.8m) elsewhere. There is no visible fosse or entrance. The bank is planted with deciduous trees and the interior is eroded by cattle. Description
Situated towards the bottom of a N-facing slope. Overgrown subcircular area (dims. 34m N-S; 31m E-W) defined by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 0.3m at W to 1.3m at S (upslope); ext. H 1.2-1.5m) and an outer fosse (Wth at base 2m; D 0.5-1.3m). The bank is reduced to a scarp (H 1.6m) WNW-N-NE. An external bank (Wth 2m; ext. H 0.6-1m at N) SSW-NE is incorporated into a field wall elsewhere. The entrance is not identified. Description
Located at the bottom of a S-facing slope. This is an overgrown circular area (diam. c. 30m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2m; H 0.8m), which is reduced to a scarp (H 1.5m) at S (downslope). An entrance (Wth 2.4m) at NNE might not be original, and there is no visible fosse.
