  Description

  Raised circular area (int. diam. 24.5m) enclosed by a narrow steep-sided earthen bank, badly denuded from NE-E-SW, and slight remains of a fosse. Original entrance not recognisable. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). • Water pump, 1870–1890 · Regional interest
  Description

  Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c.1880. Circular banded shaft, wider fluted head with gadrooned domed cap and spike pinnacle. Spout with raised rim and projecting bucket lip, cow tailed handle pivoted on lug projecting from one side of head. Secured on concrete slab surrounded by iron railings.

  Description

  Detached four-bay single-storey house, built c.1920, now disused. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles and oversailing eaves having timber soffit and decorative bargeboards having pointed arch and punched detail terminating in roundel motifs. Rendered chimneystack to gable, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Ruled-and-lined rendered walls. Six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows with stone sills and plain reveals. Timber battened door with glazed overlight. Square-profile rendered piers with pyramidal cappings, set diagonally, flanking iron gates.
