  Description

  Raised circular area (int. diam. 38.4m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep, partly waterlogged fosse. Field boundaries skirt the site from SW-N-NNE. Original entrance was probably at NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). • CV013-063001 Ritual site - holy well
  Description

  Marked on all OS eds. A wall was erected around the well in the early 1980s. Prior to this, it was surrounded by a number of boulders which served as penitential stations. Six of these are viable close to the field boundary, c. 60m to SSW (CV013-063002-). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).   Description

  Circular, shallow bullaun (diam. 0.23m; D 0.14m) in a boulder (H 0.15m; dims. 0.72m x 0.22m) which was formerly one of a series of boulders which surrounded a holy well (CV013-063001-) and served as penitential stations (local information). Bullaun stone is now situated close to a boundary c. 60m SSW of original location. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
