  Description

  Raised circular area (int. diam. 27.2m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and vague traces of a fosse identifiable only from NW-N-E. Bank appears to have been modified and has been incorporated into the field boundary. From WSW-WNW the site is skirted by a modern roadway and drainage trench. Break in bank at ESE may represent original entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).   Description

  Raised circular area (int. diam. 25.3m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and a wide, deep fosse. A low, poorly preserved counterscarp bank runs outside the fosse from SE-S-SW and at NW. Break in bank with accompanying causeway at NE represents original entrance. • Tullyvin Garda Station, garda station/constabulary barracks, 1930–1935 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached L-plan five-bay single-storey Garda station, built 1931, with open-pedimented breakfront to central entrance bay. Now vacant. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles, roughcast rendered chimneystacks with brick upper courses and corniced top, and cast-iron rainwater goods. Roughcast rendered walls with serrated brickcourse below eaves and smooth rendered plinth rising to sill level. Smooth rendered pilasters supporting open pediment over entrance with serrated brick course forming capitals. Pilasters flanking side entrance without entablature. Entrances and windows openings boarded. Detached single-storey building to rear with hipped slated roof, cornice over roughcast rendered walls, one-over-one timber sash and casement windows. Forged metal double gates flanked by square-profile ashlar piers with pyramid cappings set in random rock-faced walls with saddle copings.

• Gate lodge, 1840–1850 · Regional interest
  Description

  Detached three-bay single-storey former gate lodge, built c.1845, now in use as private house. Hipped slate roof with clay ridge tiles, cut-stone and corniced central chimneystack, paired brackets to overhanging eaves, and replacement rainwater goods. Smooth rendered walls with smooth plinth course and eaves band. Wide square-headed window openings with Tudor-style label mouldings, stone sills and replacement windows. Central entrance door flanked by simple Doric pilasters and entablature with semi-circular fanlight having teardrop motif around central eight-petal flower above replacement timber door, approached by stone steps. Set at road side with entrance gates to Tullyvin Demesne on opposite side of road.
