Description
Terraced three-bay two-storey house, built c.1820, with extensive additions to the rear. Formerly also in use as public house and retail outlet, now disused. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks over party walls, cast-iron rainwater goods. Smooth rendered walls with rendered band to corners. Two-over-two timber sash windows to first floor with convex horns and stone sills. Replacement shopfront comprising timber pilasters with acanthus leaf brackets and plain fascia. Recessed replacement timber double-leaf door having rectangular overlight with hand-painted letters reading. Flanked by plate glass windows with stone sills, rendered aprons and flanking panelled pilasters. Limestone flagstone to threshold.

Description
Terraced five-bay two-storey house, dated 1871, with integral carriage arch and shopfront insert to ground floor. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, chimneystacks over party walls and one north of central bay, cast-iron rainwater goods. Formerly rendered coursed rubble stone walls with raised render band to south corner and date stone '1871' to first floor. Replacement one-over-one timber sash windows with painted brick block-and-start dressings and stone sills. Red brick apron to ground floor window, originally the domestic entrance. Red brick segmental arch and timber battened double doors having small wicket door to carriage arch. Shopfront comprising fluted pilasters with shamrock motif to capitals, supporting timber fascia with raised lettering and cornice over. Central recessed timber panelled and glazed door with steel security gate and tiled threshold flanked by plate glass display windows. Shop interior said to retain traditional features including built-in shelves and serving counter. Stone door stop to carriage arch threshold.

Description
Detached four-bay two-storey house, built 1910, with two-storey return and shopfront inserted to ground floor. Now disused. Pitched slate roof with roll-mould ridge tiles, with lean-to roof to return. Two cement rendered chimneystacks to gables and one between central bays, replacement rainwater goods. Squared and coursed rubble limestone walls with flush dressed cornerstones, roughcast gable ends. Date stone '1910' to front elevation, evidence of alteration bearing ‘1914’ inscription. Segmental-headed windows with one-over-one timber sash windows having concave horns, two-over-two to rear, red brick block-and-start dressings, and limestone sills. Round-headed door opening with historic single-pane fanlight and transom over replacement timber door, patent reveal, and red brick dressing. Historic shopfront removed and replaced with later windows on plain stallriser flanking central doorway. Timber door and glazed door to rear. Ruin of gabled rubble stone outbuilding to south with east elevation incorporated into coursed limestone rubble boundary wall with cement coping abutting house. Opens directly on to street.

Terraced three-bay two-storey house, built c.1820, with integral carriage arch, render mouldings c.1920, and Art-Deco style shopfront c.1950. Pitched slate roof with rendered chimneystacks shared with building to south. Cast-iron rainwater goods. Smooth rendered band to eaves. Pebbledash walls to first floor with concrete plat band, moulded lintel, sill courses, and moulded piers to corners. Ruled-and-lined rendered walls with quoins to ground floor. Replacement timber casement windows with moulded concrete surrounds matching corner piers. Timber match board gate having inset wicket gate to carriage arch. Shopfront comprising black Vitrolite panels and crow-stepped fascia, with chrome trim to splayed plate-glass windows in chamfered hardwood frames, flanking recessed central doorway. Glazed door with mild steel security gate. Chrome lettering to fascia and circular vents decorated with letter 'M.' Black and white mosaic to threshold, with ‘ARCADE’ script inlay and stone inset reading, 'HAYWARDS / GATES / LONDON.' Opens directly onto street.
