  Description

  Raised circular area (int. diam. 28m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank and traces of a fosse. An earlier description (OPW 1977) recorded a wide, deep, waterlogged fosse enclosed by a low counterscarp bank at SE. Fosse is now identifiable only from E-SE. Perimeter levelled from NW-N-E. Original entrance not recognisable. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).   Raised circular area (int. diam. 49m) enclosed by a very substantial earthen bank with scarped outer face and a wide, shallow, partly waterlogged fosse, infilled from N-E-ESE.
