  Description

  Marked 'Fort' and depicted as a rectangular enclosure on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. Situated on the shore of Carrafin Lough. Although site has been levelled, its outline may still be traced (int. dims. 48.3m E-W; 43.3m N-S). The perimeter has been incorporated into the field boundary at N. Elsewhere it is identifiable as a wide, shallow depression, best preserved at S (Wth 7.6m; D 0.2m).   Description

  Raised almost circular area (int. diam. c. 118.5m) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank from WSW-N-E and a wide, deep fosse. A scarp which appears to be natural in part runs from S-WSW. Bank is breached at SSE and NW and one of these breaks probably represents the original entrance. The site is situated in low-lying ground, bounded by a swamp from SE-S-WSW, and overlooked by higher ground.   Description

  Marked as 'Granshagh or Riverview Fort' on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. Situated just S of the top of a high drumlin ridge. Although levelled, the outline of what was apparently an earthen bank and fosse may still be identified enclosing a large approximately circular area (int. diam. c. 70m).
