Description
In level pasture, land falling gently to W and S. Circular area (dims. 24.5m N-S; 26m E-W) raised (H 1.15m) above external ground level and defined by scarp (Wth 3.4m; H 1.85m) ESE-S-W-N. Base of scarp stepped at W due to erosion by cattle and scarp is slightly lower either side of a broad causeway (Wth 10.5m) ENE-E. Well defined fosse (basal Wth 2.5m; overall Wth 8.05m; D 0.7m) E-S-W-NE is waterlogged. Interior slopes down gently to ENE toward causeway and blends in with slope of causeway. A ring-barrow (TS066-047005-) is cut into W-side of interior and ring-ditch (TS066-047004-) is c. 29m to the SE, with two other ring-ditches (TS066-047002-; TS066-047003-) c. 105m and c. 117m to the NW and NNE respectively. Within enclosure (TS066-047001-), on W-edge of scarp. A sub-circular area (dims. 5.25m N-S; 7m E-W) defined by a shallow fosse (Wth 2m; D 0.15m) and remains of a low bank (Wth 2.95m; int. In improved level pasture, on a low rise of a gently undulating field. Identified on aerial photograph (Ordnance Survey 2396/7). Circular area (dims. 8m N-S; 7.5m E-W) defined by remains of shallow fosse (basal Wth 1.0m; overall Wth 2.4m; D 0.1m) and levelled external bank (Wth 3.9m; int. H 0.1m; ext. Description
In level pasture, at base of a gentle WSW-facing slope. Identified as a ring-ditch on an aerial photograph (OS 2437/6). Circular area (dims. 8m N-S; 7m E-W) defined by remains of shallow fosse (Wth 1.9m; D 0.04m) best preserved at NE. Conjoined to ditch-barrow (TS066-082001-) at NE where they share the only visible remains of a low levelled bank which acts as a bridge between the two. Description
