Description
Situated on a gentle SW-facing slope with steeper slopes downhill. Circular area (diam. 20m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2-2.8m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 1.6m) and an external fosse (Wth 3.4-5.5m) which is not visible at the W (downslope). A field boundary cuts across the N perimeter of the site. A gap at the SW (Wth 2m) partly due to disturbance, may mark the entrance. No indication of internal features. Description
Listed as an 'alignment' in the SMR (1986) and as a possible 'stone alignment' in the RMP (1995). At the summit of a small rock knoll on a steep W-facing slope overlooking a ravine. Two pairs of uprights, c. 5m apart along the line of an outcropping ridge. Of the NW pair, the largest stone (H 2m; Wth 1.30m; T 0.70m), leans to the NW. The pairs form an alignment NW-SE. Description
Situated on a gentle NW-facing slope. An oval, partly artificial platform (dims. 27m NNW-SSE; 19.50m E-W) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2-2.3m; H 0.8m) along the perimeter from SW-NE and at the SE, a steep scarp (H 2m) marking the bank of a stream at the S, and a similar scarp dropping to marshy ground at the E. There is an external flat-bottomed fosse (Wth 4.7m; D 2m) and an outer bank (Wth 1.9m; H 1m) from SW-NE. No indication of an entrance or internal features. Description
Situated in marshy ground on the N edge of a stream. Steep-sided circular platform (diam. 25m; H 0.9m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2-3m; int. H 0.35-0.65m; ext. H 1.2-1.6m) along the perimeter. The entrance (Wth 1.5m) is at the SW beside a stream with a bank projecting to the W to flank the entrance. No indication of an external fosse or internal features.
